十字架している大張偉見たのは初めてだ。どういう冗談のつもりだか、キリスト教徒は浮気は絶対禁止だそうで、「汝姦淫する無かれ」で、やましい思いで異性を見ることも戒められるらしい。これからどう仕事をするつもりなのやら、以前からキリスト教徒だったのか、突然真面目になることを誓うつもりなのか。砕けたところが韓国のチャ・テヒョンに似ていると思っていたけれど、そう言えば彼も敬虔なキリスト教徒だった。助平好きの韓国人から人気があって良いと思うけれど、韓国の花蜜さんはどのくらいいるのやら。

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.



あんまり破廉恥な内容で騒がれると、世界一だろうと大富豪だろうとともかく活動を自粛するものらしい。

アメリカはキリスト教徒が多いから、浮気については日本より厳しい筈で、一ダースを超える過激な浮気が浮上してしまうと名誉の回復が難しそうだ。
日本だったら「女が悪い」とか「浮気は男の甲斐性」とか何とか言いながら直ぐに復帰してしまいそうだけれど……。
